SUPERNOVA DOGS has a dedicated team of certified dog trainers, behavior consultants, & animal behaviorists, who are up to date on the most current research available in the evolving dog training industry. Our training team has the knowledge and understanding of how your dog’s breed characteristics, genetics, life experiences, and personality impact their learning experiences and individual needs. Our day school program is designed to provide each individual dog with a specialized curriculum to meet those needs while also working towards your training goals. 

For those dog guardians with active, high energy dogs, fulfilling your dogs desire to work can be challenging. While play alone may be fun and address your dogs physical needs, it does not provide the mental stimulation that many dogs need. Day school provides your dog with an outlet for physical exercise with the inclusion of important and valuable mental engagement. Your dog will return home tired and satisfied after a great day full of varied activities. 

Our day school program includes:

  • Enrichment

  • Training games

  • Socialization

  • Life skills training (obedience)

  • Focus on individual skills and training goals

  • Sport training

Day school hours: Full day 8:00am - 4:00pm; Half day 8:00am - 12:00pm. Morning drop off is from 7:30am - 8:00am, Half day pick up is from 12:00 -12:30pm, Afternoon pick up is from 4:00 - 4:30pm. Contact us if you need flexibility within these hours!

As a dog guardian it can sometimes be difficult to dedicate time in your daily schedule to focus on training, after all, you aren't a dog trainer and we don't expect you to be! Day school provides a great foundation for consistency in training and we take the guess work out of training your dog. As part of our program, you will receive access to training handouts and videos of your dog's specific sessions with our trainers so that you can follow along and maintain behaviors at home.

Puppy 101

Ages 10 weeks - 1 year

Let’s face it, raising a puppy is a lot of work! Puppies do not come knowing how to fit into our human world, which is vastly different from the canine world. It is up to their guardians to ensure they receive the know-how to properly navigate the human environment. Puppies need to know what is expected of them and we must show them the way. That typically involves proper socialization, training, mental enrichment, age appropriate exercises & more. There are only so many hours in the day so where do you start? SUPERNOVA University of course!

Our Puppy 101 program provides everything that your puppy needs to be successful in the human world. We tailor all training to meet your needs and goals for your pup. Let your puppy come spend the day with us!

While at day school your puppy will receive a proper balance of training, play, & mental enrichment.

  • Training: A lot goes into training a puppy but making sure they get a well rounded education is so important in helping shape them into a well adjusted dog. At puppy school, our trainers will set your puppy up for success with training that covers socialization, grooming and handling, obedience, house training, real world situations and more!

  • Play: Playing with a variety of different dog breeds and sizes is an essential component for education & social skills. Puppies will have ample opportunity to romp, play, and gain experience from each other. Puppies often don’t know their own limits, especially when it comes to biting. Through contact with other puppies, your dog learns more about their biting reflex and will perceive the limits of biting. BITE INHIBITION IS A NECESSARY SKILL THAT ALL PUPPIES NEED TO LEARN.

  • Enrichment: A variety of games and activities designed to engage and challenge your puppy, enrichment provides sensory stimulation and can be a great way to encourage choice and build confidence.

A typical day at puppy school:

  • Playtime with friends (30-45 minutes)

  • Nap time - Rest plays an important role in your puppies brain development! (20 minutes)

  • Basic training, enrichment, or sport/trick training. Each puppy rotates through to ensure they get one on one time with our training team.

  • Lunchtime & Rest (Half day pick up)

  • MORE playtime with friends!

  • Second training session

  • Afternoon Nap

  • Games

  • Pick up & enjoy your pup!

Our daily limit is 6 puppies, allowing the puppies to break off and form pairs during play. This also allows the puppies to receive the proper time for training, enrichment and even sport conditioning. Keeping everything in balance, day school includes time for naps!

  • Day school is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays as full or half days. School days can be purchased as single days or as a package for a discounted rate.

  • $95 per individual full day (plus tax)

    $50 per individual half day (plus tax)

    5% discount for a 4 day package

    10% discount for an 8 day package

  • Puppies must be at least 10 weeks old to start school. No prior training required. If there are behavior concerns, an evaluation may be required to finalize your reservation.

Canine 301

Ages 1 year +

Our Canine 301 program is designed for adolescent and adult dogs as an alternative to traditional daycare. While play is important and is something that many dogs enjoys, we now know that mental enrichment is just as important for dogs as physical exercise. Research has shown that increased mental activity results in improved mental health and cognitive function in dogs. It builds confidence, releases stress, gives them some control over their environment, and keeps them occupied in constructive, non-destructive ways. During day school, a variety of enrichment activities which encourage species- and breed-specific behaviors, will satisfy your dog’s need for mental and physical stimulation in appropriate ways that will promote good health and well-being.

Staying home and following the same routine day in and day out, with few social interactions, would leave anyone feeling bored, frustrated, anxious and depressed. Our dogs can feel the same way when they lack social activities, new experiences, an occupation, and the opportunity to engage in normal canine behaviors. In fact, many canine behavior problems are caused by boredom or a lack of mental stimulation. Instead of leaving your dog home alone for the day they can spend the day at school, learning new skills and having fun with friends!

Day School Packages

Consistency is key when it comes to training. We offer day school packages so your pup can attend class regularly and make the most of their time with us. You have the option to purchase a 4 or 8 day package for our full or half day school programs. Not only is it quick and easy to schedule your dog’s school days but you will receive a discount when booking a package!

School Bus Service

Our day school program offers flexible drop off and pick up schedules but we know that sometimes it may still be challenging to get everyone where they need to be. You can choose to add on an optional School Bus service to get your canine family member to and from school.
