Rachel, originally from Central NY, moved to Buffalo after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and MBA at St. Bonaventure University. Throughout her life, she has always had a dog so about a year and a half after moving to Buffalo she got her first dog of her own, Quincy. Knowing Quincy, an Australian Shepard, would need a lot of mental and physical exercise she began looking online at different training exercises that she could do with him and really started to fall in love with training. They took their first agility class in January 2021 and haven’t looked back since.
Her dog Quincy really helped her gain compassion and knowledge for dogs who struggle with reactivity. In the middle of 2020, Quincy struggled to even go on walks around the neighborhood but thanks to help from SUPERNOVA DOGS and The Pet Professor, they slowly overcame this obstacle. Quincy now has his AKC Canine Good Citizen title and continues to grow more confident everyday. Rachel hopes to help other dog parents experience the joy of working with their dog towards a goal through the use of positive reinforcements.
Rachel also has a young Border Collie, Zima Blue, that she also trains agility with. They are working towards entering their first trial in 2023. Zima has really helped grow Rachel’s knowledge of agility.
She is a Certified Public Accountant and currently a Tax Manager at a local public accounting firm. In her free time, she enjoys taking different classes with Quincy and Zima, as well as DIY projects.
