Lee Donohue
Lee has been interested in working with animals since he was very young, but getting his first dog as an adult is what motivated him to get into training. If you know Lee, you have probably heard about his dog Mars, his rescue Pitbull. Mars and his behavioral challenges are what drove Lee to pursue a career in dog training. After learning to help Mars better navigate the world around him through the use of positive reinforcement training techniques, Lee was inspired to help other people with their dogs. His favorite thing about training is helping people to better understand their dogs, while helping the dogs understand how to navigate like in a human world. He believes that building a relationship based on love, understanding, and trust is key to success in all areas of dog training.
Since Mars, Lee has welcomed Nala, his Labrador Retriever and Vitani, a Belgian Malinois, into his family. Nala has earmed all of her AKC Canine Good Citizen titles and both Nala and Vitani are training in Agility. Lee finds learning and teaching Agility extremely rewarding because it is all about seeing what you and your dog can accomplish as a team. Not only has Agility been a really fun sport for Lee and his dogs to participate in, he has found that learning Agility has helped his dogs in other areas of their lives, both at home and during training.
Along with training, Lee is also an accomplished groomer. He approaches grooming with the same love, understanding, and trust that he uses during training to help make the dogs he grooms as comfortable as possible. In Lee’s words, “Dogs are my entire life!”.
