Deanna has been dedicated to pursuing a career with animals since her first job at a pet store. She initially gained experience as a manager before transitioning to dog grooming, a position she continues to excel in. Having grown up with Boxers, she fell in love with the breed and got involved in Schutzhund training. This dog sport requires dedication to training at a high level in multiple areas; Developing her skills in this sport further heightened Deanna’s passion for training working dog breeds. Since joining Supernova, she introduced her boxers to Rally Obedience and Agility, enjoying not only the varying challenges of these sports but also the fun she has with her dogs.

Deanna is passionate about learning and is always working to develop new skills to apply with her dogs and her students. Her experience in dog sports has helped her become fluent in the use of both food and toy rewards when working with dogs, understanding how each of these tools can be most effectively used for each individual dog. She is excited to share this knowledge with her students whether they are working with her in Rally or Agility class.

Deanna believes that with training, patience, and a good relationship, you can achieve anything with your dogs. She loves supporting the underdogs and enjoys training breeds and mixes for sports that people would not expect them to excel in. She also enjoys working with and trouble shooting the challenges of handling “difficult” dogs as seeing their success is so rewarding. Deanna believes the most important part of a relationship with your dog is trust; Trust in your dog and build their trust in you.
